CAROLINA ARTIST SHOWDOWN

The Carolina Artist Showdown is broadcast daily across several stations, including 100.1 Carolina Country (WFAY) in Fayetteville, NC, 93.9 Carolina Country (WGLD) in Myrtle Beach, SC, and 106.3 Carolina Country in Wilmington, NC. This program offers local artists from the Carolinas a chance to have their songs played on the Carolina Country Radio Network, gaining significant exposure through daily "spins." Audiences participate by voting for their preferred songs and artists, with the monthly winner being named Artist of the Month and securing a place in the finals for the Entertainer of the Year at the Carolina Country Music Awards.
The competition is managed by the Program Director of the Carolina Country Radio Network, who is part of Colonial Media and Entertainment. Sweet Tea, overseeing the showdown, emphasizes the value of radio play for these artists, noting, "Each artist receives over twenty spins during the month. It's wonderful to showcase so much local talent, often introducing these artists on the radio for the first time."
